Mini Pupillage

We offer 2-day Mini-pupillages at Hogarth Chambers.

A mini-pupillage is an opportunity for you to experience life at Hogarth and at the IP/Chancery Bar. You will have the opportunity to read and discuss current IP and Chancery/Commercial cases with members of Chambers, accompany us to court and sit in on conferences with clients. We do our best to ensure that mini-pupils see a variety of work with a number of members of chambers.

Mini-pupillages are not formally assessed but the majority of candidates invited for pupillage interviews will have done a mini-pupillage with us. If you are interested in doing pupillage at Hogarth Chambers, if possible, we recommend that you apply for a mini-pupillage.

We offer mini-pupillages to those candidates who appear to have realistic prospects of being called to interview for pupillage in due course and therefore require prospective mini-pupils to have commenced or completed the GDL or to have entered the final year of a law degree.

Application:

For those wishing to come on a mini-pupillage between April and July, applications should be made between 1st of January and 31st of March. Those wishing to apply for a mini-pupillage between October and February, applications should be made between 1st April and 30th September.

We do not generally offer mini-pupillages during the court vacation periods and places are limited so feel free to send in your application outside of these deadlines.

Please address your application and any enquiries to the Chambers Director by way of email to admin@hogarthchambers.com. Any email must be marked ‘Application for Mini Pupillage’ and must include a separate CV and covering letter. No other material will be considered, save in exceptional circumstances. Your CV must include a breakdown of your academic grades by subject from undergraduate onwards. There is no prescribed form for the covering letter, but it should seek to address your suitability for both Chambers and the IP Bar.”
